We are happy to announce that Steve Sem-Sandberg’s upcoming novel THE CHOSEN ONES (De utvalda) has been sold to Robert Laffont in France. This French powerhouse published the author’s internationally succesful novel THE EMPEROR OF LIES (De fattiga i Lodz) in 2011. Aside from the fantastic reviews the book was also nominated for the Prix Médicis etranger as well as shortlisted for the Jan Michalski Prize for Literature 2013.

THE MAESTRO OF SAINT PETERSBURG SHORTLISTED FOR BEST AUDIO BOOK OF THE YEAR!

Congratulations to Camilla Grebe and Paul Leander-Engström who have been shortlisted for Best Audiobook of the Year in the crime and thriller category. The Grand Audio Prize (Stora Ljudbokspriset) was founded in 2008 and has been awarded to great authors such as Jonas Gardell, Per-Olov Enquist and Jussi Adler-Olsen. The winner will be crowned in April 2014.

RIGHTS SOLD: THE CHOSEN ONES TO WYDAWNITCTWO LITERACKIE IN POLAND

Polish rights to Steve Sem-Sandberg’s upcoming novel DE UTVALDA (The Chosen Ones) have been sold to Wydawnitctwo Literackie. They successfully published the author’s very powerful novel The Emperor of Lies last year and we are happy to be able to continue working with them for this authorship.

BENNI BØDKER NOMINATED TO THE ORLA PRIZE 2013

Congratulations to Benni Bødker’s nomination for the The Orla Prize!
The Orla Prize is a literary prize named after Orla Frøsnapper (Orla frog-eater)–the protagonist in Ole Lund Kirkegaard’s children’s book with the same name.
It’s a price for and by children–children nominate, vote and select the winner every year.

The winner will be announced in April 2014.

The Orla price is collaboration between Danish Radio and the Reading campaign carried out by the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Social Affairs. The prize was awarded for the first time in 2005.

VIVECA STEN’S THE SANDHAMN MURDERS NOMINATED FOR PRESTIGIOUS TV AWARD

Yesterday, it was announced that the TV-series MORDEN I SANDHAMN (The Sandhamn Murders), based on Viveca Sten’s popular crime series with the same name, was nominated for the Kristallen Awards, in the category best TV-drama. The prestigious Kristallen is a coveted prize similar to America’s Emmy Awards and we could not be happier for Viveca and everybody involved in the production.

STEVE SEM-SANDBERG SHORT-LISTED FOR THE JAN MICHALSKI PRIZE 2013

We are happy to announce that Steve Sem-Sandberg’s award-winning novel THE EMPEROR OF LIES (De fattiga i Łódź) has been shortlisted for the prestigious Jan Michalski Prize 2013. The Swiss literary award was created by the Fondation Jan Michalski pour l’Ecriture et la Littérature, founded in 2004 by Vera Michalski-Hoffman in memory of her husband Jan Michalski. Its purpose is to recognize and promote authors from around the world and world literature in general.

THE EMPEROR OF LIES has previously been awarded with The August Prize, a coveted Swedish Literary Award. The novel was also short-listed for the prestigious Nordic Council Award in 2010. It won Swedish Radio’s Kerstin M Lundberg Prize and was nominated for the French literary award Prix Médicis – Roman Étranger.
