This year’s Adam Helms Lecture will be given by Camilla Läckberg, a distinguished honour in Sweden’s literary and publishing community. The event will take place in Uppsala on 9 September 2025.

In her lecture, Läckberg will address questions of literary hierarchy, the label of “popular” or “low” culture, and the power structures that determine cultural value. She will reflect on the role of storytelling, the perception of readers, and culture’s place in society.

Since her debut in 2003, Camilla Läckberg has sold millions of books worldwide and established herself as one of Sweden’s most prominent novelists. She is also widely recognised for her thoughtful engagement with cultural debates around popular and high literature.
