AFTER A DEMONSTRATION that calls for tougher penalties for sexual offences descends into chaos in a city park, a recently released sex offender is found stabbed to death among the crowd. Amid the turmoil, a young female police officer is seen retreating, and a report of misconduct lands on Pauline’s desk at the Special Investigations Unit. When the team reviews the officers’ body camera footage, they discover something disturbing: sequences are missing, as if someone within the police force has deliberately cut out crucial moments to steer the investigation astray.
