MIRIAM REALISES THAT the war, which has been raging for a hundred years, has escalated into a hellish conflict that no one can control anymore. After Freddy Milton was murdered and Dante Dreffling was beaten, there is no honour left. Chaos reigns in the Milton family. Miriam Milton has, in addition to the war with the Drefflings, her own personal vendetta to deal with: punishing her father for sacrificing her twin brother James when the agreement was signed. Vincent’s past has caught up with him, and he has been kidnapped by cartel members from Colombia. At the same time, the prodigal son Franco returns to Åre. Old wounds that never healed are torn open.

THE DREFFLING FAMILY is also in mourning. Sam Senior and Rut’s youngest child, Noah, has been found murdered. Why? Sam Senior sees history repeating itself – a son for a son for a son. Plans are made to at least save Dante from being murdered. But the plan demands a great sacrifice. Emmeline, in turn, tries to avoid Klara Sundbacke, who is digging deeper and deeper into the hit-and-run accident. Secrets come to the surface and threaten to destroy everything.

AND WHO EXACTLY are the cuckoos’ children born of forbidden love? When the truth comes out, not only is the power struggle between the families threatened, but so is the unity within their own ranks. Who can trust whom?
