PAPPERSVÄGGAR – PAPERWALLS

By John Ajvide Lindqvist

A high-rise in Blackeberg twists and bends, a customs officer with an unusually good sense of smell discovers the truth about his past, a man who has encountered death sacrifices everything to capture it, and a mother of two becomes obsessed with a frozen corpse abandoned in a summer cottage.

Everyday life is not always recognizable in the stories collected in John Ajvide Lindqvist’s Paper Walls. The horrors and hollows are perched right at the edge of reality; the improbable, the unexpected and the incredible. The people who populate the stories are the ones who have punched holes in the paper walls and stepped over to the other side. Not everyone makes it back to reality again.

The ten freestanding stories are set in environments familiar to readers of John Ajvide Lindqvist’s previous books. The Final Treatment, for instance, is a stand-alone sequel to the novel The Treatment of the Undead, in which all who wondered what became of the awakened dead receive an answer.
