At this year’s virtual edition of Storytel Awards Iceland 2020’s best audiobook experiences were celebrated. The authors and readers of the year in each of the five categories were awarded with statuettes during a ceremony in Reykjavik concert hall. In the suspense category Emelie Schepp and her Slowly We Die won the prestigious prize.
– I’m overwhelmed and incredibly happy to receive Iceland’s biggest audiobook award. It means a lot that Slowly We Die has reached so many listeners this past year and I wanted to thank everyone who has nominated me and the reader greatly, and of course also the jury who finally chose my book as the winner, says Emelie Schepp.
About Storytel Awards Iceland. It’s up to the listeners to vote on their favorites in five different categories: novel, suspense, nonfiction, children and YA. When the voting is closed the finalists in each category are handed over to the jury who chooses the winner. The award is given to the audiobook that presents the best audiobook experience, both from the story and the interpretation of the reader.
