Camilla Läckberg

Before she became one of Sweden’s most popular crime writers, Camilla Läckberg (b. 1974) worked as a marketing director and product manager for several years. Her first two crime novels, The Ice Princess and The Preacher, received rave reviews from the Swedish press and quickly found a large readership. But her big breakthrough came when The Stonecutter was nominated “Crime Novel of the Year” in 2005. Her following two books The Stranger and The Hidden Child were both made lead titles in Bonnier’s Book Club and Camilla’s status as the queen of Swedish crime was cemented.

The novels have since gained even more popularity after being adapted into a TV-series, and later a movie produced by SVT (Swedish Television) and SF.

In April 2017 the tenth book in Läckberg’s Fjällbacka-series, The Girl in the Woods, was released. A critic and reader favourite it is said to be her best novel so far! In one year the book sold over 300 000 copies in Sweden earning Camilla a Diamond Book Award from the publisher.

Spring of 2019 saw the the global launch of The Golden Cage, the first of two completely new dark and suspenseful novels by Camilla Läckberg. After ten internationally bestselling novels and 30 million copies sold, Läckberg’s next adventure was to be a psychological suspense duology. The two books about Faye have been read by millions and in 2021 The Golden Cage was awarded a Diamond Book Award from its Swedish publisher, marking sales reaching well over 300.000 copies!

Camilla is currently putting the finishing touches on Cult, the second part in the new crime series that she is writing together with mentalist and author Henrik Fexeus.
