ANNA GRUE BECAME a bestselling author in Denmark with the series of crime novels about private investigator Dan Sommerdahl. The novels have been adapted for the screen in a collaboration with Danish TV2 and German ZDF. The fifth season is scheduled to premiere in 2024.

GRUE DEBUTED AS an author in 2005 after a career in media as a graphic designer, copywriter and editor of the popular magazines at Aller Press. In 2007 the first novel about former advertiser Dan Sommerdahl’s first case as a private detective, Deep Falling. In 2020 Anna Grue launched The Charity Shop Mystery, the first book in  a new series with main character Anne-Maj Mortensen, the early retired and very persistent amateur detective from the provincial town of Nykøbing Sjælland, and with that she claimed the spot as Denmarks #1 cosy crime author.

ANNE-MAJ MORTENSEN has an almost unwell need for order and can not just sit by and watch when the local police miss obvious clues and don’t do their job. With her stubbornness and extreme curiosity, and a little help from her daughter Iben and grandchild Diddi and dachshund Mortensen the third, Anne-Maj throws herself into the investigation with both intended and unintended results.

ANNA GRUE HAS an eye for the human weaknesses and our pretense, and she has created a great and loyal fan base through her novels and social media. Besides the seven books about Dan Sommerdahl and the planned four books about Anne-Maj Mortensen, Grue has written four other novels and a short story collection.
