LAURA RINGO WAS born in 1990 on Falster island in Denmark. She debuted in 2017 with young adult novel The Cremasteric Reflex, followed by Paper Wedding in 2019 which won the Blixen Prize for Best Young Adult Novel of the Year and was shortlisted for Politiken’s Literary Prize.

RINGO PUBLISHED HER first novel for adults, Fertile, in 2020, followed by Little Hints in 2021 and The Smoking Club in 2022. She has since returned to writing for young adults; The Weight of a Heart is a modern take on The Merchant of Venice as part of Gydendal’s Shakespeare Retold Series, and Fresh Air is a part of Gads Forlag’s 2024 Novella Series for readers aged 13-16, this year with the theme “transformation.”
