FLOCKEN – THE PACK

By Caroline Grimwalker & Leif Grimwalker

SUPER COP JOHN WAGNER’S life is shattered when his wife Sara and son Mattias suddenly disappear. The trail leads to Sara’s childhood home, the godforsaken village of December, far up North in the Swedish countryside. December turns out to be a shit magnet. Soon John doesn’t only need to find his family, but also has a real melting pot of dirty crime to work his way through.

AFTER UNWILLINGLY BECOMING part of December’s police force, John quickly teams up with psychologist Kim Cordell, who also has a dark past. Together, they take on December and the forces that operate in the city’s underbelly. It all starts with a brutal gang shooting and a body that is being fished up from the lake outside his house.

The authors have masterfully created a work that keeps the reader in its grip from beginning to end – or rather, from beginning to next beginning, because nothing in the series really ends when each book ends. […] Death In December has an almost magical ability to keep curiosity alive, and you never feel satiated – rather, you become hungrier with every page. The language is well balanced, with an intensity that matches the ever-increasing tension. […] A word of warning, though: once you start reading, it will be difficult to put down. So make sure you have plenty of time – because you won’t want to do anything else until you’ve made your way through the entire series.

[Grimwalker & Grimwalker] are incredibly skilled, and when I read the Death In December books, it sometimes feels as if I have fallen into a sinkhole. Time and space disappear, and only I and the inhabitants exist. One thing that stands out is the language, which is something out of the ordinary.
