DURING ONE HUNDRED years, Stockholm has been transformed from a dark and poor small-town to a modern big city. The change was furious, violent and revolutionarily. In the 1860’s, Henning Nilsson and his Lotten fought against distress and hardships in the city of their dreams. Now their many descendants live in a rich city in a rich country. Their lives and conditions are different, but they understand that the world’s problems are their problems too, and that Stockholm is a city in the world.
