KANINHÅLET – THE RABBIT HOLE
By Caroline Grimwalker & Leif Grimwalker
Two families. A hundred years of hatred. Immense wealth.
The dark side of Åre that you knew nothing about.
MIRIAM MILTON RULES her family and Åre with an iron fist. Trained to literally walk over corpses to achieve her goals, she buys up ever more lucrative stretches of land. Because Miriam knows what can be extracted from the ground, resources that will make the Milton family even richer and more powerful.
THERE IS ONLY one law in Åre – Milton’s law, and the family owns Åre, from the smallest drug dealer to the police, the hotels and the properties. Some call them criminals, and nothing stands in their way – until the Dreffling family breaks the agreement that has been in place for generations. Miriam’s anger knows no bounds, but she reluctantly realizes that she must tread lightly, and plan her revenge carefully.
AT HER SIDE to face the threat of the invading Drefflings, Miriam has her husband Vincent and their five children. Her sons Freddy and Lennox in particular are prepared to do anything for the good of the family. Thousands of bodies are said to be hidden in hollows and caves that are yet to be discovered. The worst of them is called the Rabbit Hole.
MEANWHILE, POLICE OFFICER Jack has gone to Åre to look for his missing brother. When he meets journalist Anneli, who is in Åre to investigate her sister’s mysterious suicide, they realize there might be a connection. Did their relatives get too close to the truth about what lies behind the Milton family’s well-polished facade?
THE RABBIT HOLE is the first part of the new parallel series “Killing Åre”, where we follow two different families in a life and death struggle for power and wealth in an Åre where nothing is what it used to be. The setting is an Åre where politics and crime go hand in hand in a constant quest for power and the hidden riches of the mountains. The audience gets to take part in two simultaneous book releases, where the first book gives us the Milton family’s perspective, and the second book the perspective of the Dreffling family. In The Rabbit Hole, the Milton family is the focus.
