KUNSTEN AT SPEJLE ET ÆG – THE ART OF FRYING AN EGG

By Kim Andrea Brofeldt

ONE MORNING IN August, Troels suffers a stroke. He lives with his two teenage children after his ex-wife, Maria, left for Dubai for a year, and although he misses her terribly, he was just starting to feel comfortable with his new daily routine. To avoid the risk of having to move in with their mother, the children convince him to keep the stroke a secret from her.

HOWEVER, THIS LIE is far from the only one Troels has told in his life, and as he tries to recover from his illness with the help of his friends, who form the Troels Council, contradictions and untruths from the past begin to surface. Why has his best friend, Sally, been unknown to his family until now, when she suddenly steps in? And who is Ronnie, whom Troels can no longer keep out of his thoughts and dreams, even though he has not wanted to think about him for over twenty years?

THE ART OF FRYING AN EGG is a story about illness, memory, friendship, and fatherhood and how recovery is as much about remembering and reinterpreting our lives as it is about healing the scars.
