MYSTERIET OM DEN BLÅ DAME – THE MYSTERY OF THE BLUE LADY

By Sara Blædel

CILLA AND HER little brother Agger dream of a prairie wagon vacation across Jutland. So when their parents cancel the trip, the summer takes an unexpected turn. Instead, they end up at their grandmother’s farm, Ingersminde, by the looming Shadow Mountain.

THERE, WITH THEIR fearless cousin Cuba and his sister Havana, they stumble into a mystery far more thrilling than any holiday. The forest hides secrets, and an old legend about the Blue Lady, who guards a missing deed, suddenly comes to life. To save Ingersminde, the children must uncover the truth about Inger Nørby’s disappearance decades ago.

BUT DANGER LURKS: a sinister man in a silver BMW is prowling the area. With only their wits, their courage, and the help of retired police officer Gunnar, the children must protect their grandmother’s farm before it’s too late.

WILL THEY FIND the deed and keep Ingersminde safe? And will the Blue Lady finally find peace?

THE MYSTERY OF THE BLUE LADY is a gripping and heartwarming tale of family, courage, and friendship – perfect for readers who crave mystery and adventure from the very first page.

As soon as I open the book, I am transported along with all the children on their adventure, and it is a pleasure. The language is easy and fluid throughout. […] I give it 6 out of 6 hearts, because I got far more than I could have asked for, and you can feel Sara throughout the story in a special way, because she has been to these places as a child. Has she surpassed herself by writing this? Yes, absolutely, and it’s a stroke of genius, and my expectations, well, they were immediately exceeded. I’m really looking forward to more of this series.

First of all, I absolutely love that it is a children’s book. Secondly, it is beautifully illustrated. Thirdly, it’s a bloody good story. Lots of plot twists, seriously good humour. And the bond between the characters is just magical. I really love the descriptions of the surroundings, especially of nature. I can taste, smell and, not least, see it all for myself. You get sucked into the universe. And can we agree… That’s what it’s all about. A fantastic book that I can only WARMLY recommend. For both children and adults.

I like The Mystery of the Blue Lady because I love good books about crime, puzzles and mystery, because they keep me reading and make me want to keep reading. […] I think it’s great to have a children’s book about crime, mysteries and the supernatural, because I think there’s a lack of this in children’s literature. […] An exciting, entertaining, fun and wonderful children’s book that I definitely recommend to children and childlike souls!
