1982: In a Beirut torn by the civil war and with Israeli tanks rolling in, a nurse and a married ambassador meet. Together with a bunch of other Norwegians they stand the ground.

In the summer heat of 2017, former ambassador Leif Wilberg is blown into the air by a car bomb. His wife, Hanna Svarstad, has disappeared without a trace. Tommy Bergmann, from PST, realizes that he has to start searching in the past to find the truth.
