SORT MONSUN—BLACK MONSOON
by Christina Lund
JOURNALIST CATHRINE BIRKLUND struggles with the aftermath of PTSD after a tragic incident during a reporting trip to Afghanistan. Her career has suffered, and she struggles with alcohol abuse and an inability to be a mother to her young son. When Cathrine’s Thai friend, the punk private detective Pim, contacts her and asks for help in solving a case, she sees an opportunity to escape reality and, at the same time, restore her reputation – and her life.
PIM HAS BEEN approached by the Danish ambassador in Bangkok. His daughter has disappeared without a trace, and the case is politically sensitive, but also extremely dangerous, as it soon turns out. Someone clearly does not want them to get involved, and before Cathrine knows it, she herself is in danger when an unexpected enemy steps out of the darkness.
BLACK MONSOON IS the first volume in the series about journalist Cathrine Birklund.
