INGRID NYMO (B. 1992) is a Danish author whose work explores grief, community, and the inexplicable through a lyrical and deeply psychological lens. She made her literary debut with Monastery, a novel set in a convent that reflects themes rooted in her own time spent volunteering at a monastery in Romania.

HER SECOND NOVEL, The Red Rooster, confirmed her as one of Denmark’s most promising literary voices. The book was widely acclaimed by critics and nominated for the prestigious DR Roman Prize. Drawing from her own experiences as a home care worker in Thy, the novel examines desire, trauma, and the destructive impulse through the metaphor of pyromania, weaving together realism with a sense of the mystical.

NYMO’S WRITING IS often described as an attempt to articulate the incomprehensible—death, birth, love, and the mysteries of human desire—through poetic language and metaphor. She sees literature as a space akin to psychoanalysis, where the subconscious and the creative meet, and where dreams and inner life become material for fiction.

HER FORTHCOMING NOVEL expands her fascination with the inexplicable into a rich, imaginative universe—her first foray into a full-fledged fan genre, fantasy, promising to bring her distinctive lyrical style and psychological depth to a broad audience.

IN ADDITION TO her literary work, Nymo has taught writing for several years. She lives in Aarhus, Denmark.
