We are delighted to share that John Ajvide Lindqvist has been shortlisted for the 2026 Petrona Award for the Best Scandinavian Crime Novel of the Year with The Writing in the Water, translated into English by Michael Meigs and published by Amazon Crossing.

The novel is one of seven titles selected for this year’s shortlist, chosen from 28 entries from six countries.

The Petrona Award celebrates the best Scandinavian crime fiction published in English translation in the UK. The winner will be announced on 22 October 2026.
