The poet and radio journalist Marcus Birro (b. 1972) published his first collection of poems Det oerhörda / I den andra världen (The Enormous / In the Other World) together with his brother, the renowned author Peter Birro, in 1992. Today Marcus Birro is considered to be one of the most important and unconventional authors in Sweden, not least because of his eminent readings. He has been awarded several awards and grants, most recently he received the prestigious Dan Andersson Award.
His most recent novel Att leva och dö som Joe Strummer (To Live and Die Like Joe Strummer) was published in the autumn of 2010.
